Lately my email inbox has been a ghost town. I’ve sent out dozens of submissions over the last few weeks and have been waiting and waiting. This morning the standard spam from the New York Times and Pitchfork was there, detritus I delete without opening, but also something better: an acceptance note from an excellent web publication called The Beatnik Cowboy.
My hot sauce obsession is well-documented. This poem was inspired by one of Huy Fong Foods’ top sriracha competitors, Uni-Eagle. I still prefer the Huy Fong brand but I can’t get it in Guernsey. Of the various sriracha knockoffs available at my local stores, the Uni-Eagle is the best option.
